The best in the world






The best places to view collected sea life in the world: the world’s best aquariums, from Japan to Turkey.


 Home to manta rays and whale sharks, it hosts 100,000 specimens. It is the largest aquarium in the world, although only six years old and is the only institution outside of Asia to house whale sharks.


Dubai Mall Aquarium and Discovery Center, United Arab Emirates

The Dubai Mall, one the world’s largest shopping malls in the world, is part of the 20-billion-dollar Burj Dubai complex in Dubai. The centrepiece of the mall is the gigantic aquarium tank. It hosts the largest acrylic panel with almost 33,000 specimens - including 400 sharks and rays - and features a 270-degree walkthrough tunnel.


 A marine complex where different marine habitats are represented, it is integrated inside a complex known as the City of Arts and Sciences inside the city of Valencia, Spain, designed by Calatrava. The OceanogrĂ fic features the largest aquarium tank in Europe and houses more than 45,000 marine creatures.

Turkuazoo, Istanbul,Turkey

Turkey’s first giant aquarium features a rainforest, flooded forest and tropical sea zones. The aquarium is located inside the Forum Istanbul Shopping Mall and contains an 80 metre-long underwater tunnel. Turkuazoo holds about 10,000 sea creatures including tiger sharks, giant stingrays and piranhas as well as a moving walkaway.



One of the largest and most modern aquariums in Japan, it also contains a great variety of specimens, with over 740 separate species (among them, whale sharks). It is located within the Ocean Expo Park, which gives you plenty of other sights to choose from.
