The Most Desired Luxury Watches of 2013
When you understand what it takes to succeed in life, you know what that feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment truly feel like. Having something of quality and luxury in your life can serve as a reminder of all it took to get you where you are today.
When most people think luxury watches their minds instantly imagine the gold crown of the internationally renowned Rolex brand. Perhaps other commercially popular brands like Gucci or Omega come to mind. However, there are several other high-end watch makers out there producing timepieces that put the “chrono-crown” into perspective.
For example, watchmakers like Jaeger Le Coultre, Blancpain, Audemars Piguet, Ulysse Nardin, Franck Muller, and Chopard are actually responsible for making some the world’s most sought after luxury watches.
So, come along with us as we discover what the most desired luxury watches are in 2013.
Because each “chrono-connoisseurs” has their own style, these selections have not been put in any particular order of value or desirability.
Rolex
Of the commercially successful brands, the Rolex name turns the most heads.
That’s why one particular Rolex Submariner has made its way onto our list. But, this stainless steel timepiece isn’t just any watch, no, this one was owned by one of world’s coolest. That’s right this one was once worn by Steve McQueen and it recently sold for $234,000 at auction. If only it could talk, the stories it could tell.
FYI, what is the most expensive Rolex to ever sell? A 1942 Rolex Chronograph for $1.16 million.
Ulysse Nardin
The Ulysee Nardin Triplejack Minute Repeater is not only one of the most highly sought after luxury watches, with a retail price of $340,000 it’s also one of the more expensive ones. What is the secret of the hammering bells to separate the minutes and the quarters? To find out, it’s going to cost you.
Jaeger Le Coultre
Priceless!  This is not just a statement on the quality or beauty about Jaeger Le Coultre’s, Joaillerie 101 Manchette watch, it is what the price tag reads. Sparkling with 576 diamonds, black leaf like hands, a sapphire dial, and a rear winding crown this 18 carat white gold bracelet design truly is luxury at its finest.
Chopard
This 201 carat, $25 million dollar masterpiece is the definition of luxury. Made up of 874 diamonds this Chopard piece features three gorgeous diamonds over ten carats. A 15 carat red heart shaped diamond, a 12 carat blue heart shaped diamond, and an 11 carat white heart shaped diamond. This beauty can’t help but to attract extra attention.
Blancpain
The 1735 Grande Complication from Blancpain might have a price tag of $800,000, but that’s because its complex machinery includes  a remarkable 740 hand-made pieces, a crocodile skin strap, and a case made completely from precious platinum.
Audemars Piguet
A titanium case and an impressive perpetual calendar keep this $740,000 Jules Audemars Grande Complication not only stylish, but extremely functional as well. This timepiece tracks not only the time and date with unprecedented precision, but it also calculates the moon phases and odd leap year schedules as well.
Looking to pick one of these up? You’ll have to travel to Audemars New York store, as that’s the only place you’ll find it.
Franck Muller
Our final selection is the Aeternitas Mega 4 by Franck Muller. This handsome luxury watch has a 999 years calendar, three-day power reserve, and boasts the most complications of any watch in the world with thirty-six. With a price tag of $2.7 million we’d expect it to be built to last a millennia and to attract the kind of owner who knows and deserves true luxury.
