Pack Your Dopp Kit Like a World Traveler

1383603719962_byo-snobby-bourbon.jpgVacation is one of life's greatest pleasures. You skirt all your responsibilities, head off into the sunset, resolved to relax until you're spent. Of course, the moments leading up to your departure are harried and stressful--I'm talking about the packing, mostly. The added TSA regulations only make matters more complicated, especially for grooming supplies. Follow these simple guidelines so you and your dopp kit arrive safely and securely.

You're a man, the time of ziplock bags in your luggage is over (sort of, I'll get to that later) so first get yourself a dopp kit. This may not be the first you buy, but could definitely hold up to be your last.
$145, available at Jack Spade

If you want to knock out everything in one punch, look to Aesop. Their Jet Set Kit comes with 4 clear 50ml bottles of shampoo, conditioner, cleanser and body balm. Throw them right in and you're nearly done. Of course, if you prefer to mix and match, you must remember at all bottles must be less than 3.4 oz. And for the truly thrifty out there, remember, this is a great time to pack those samples department store salespeople throw at you.
$37, available at Aesop

Not all water is created equal, and your skin knows this. Showering and washing your face in a different location can have a bad (or good) effect on your skin. Don't leave the home base without some kind of face wash. Kiehl's facial fuel will keep you clean, and clocks in at 2.5 oz., more than TSA friendly.
$8, available at Kiehl's

If you plan on taking some selfies or posing for photos, you better make sure your teeth are sparkling clean. Of course, you've probably thought of this already, because who travels with toothpaste. But, also consider this a time to change up your routine. If you want to try something new, a vacation gives you the perfect amount of time to test something out. For a particularly clean feeling, go with Euthymol. Trust me, you'll know what I mean after your first brush.
$12.99, available at Amazon
Now that your basics are covered and you have a light understanding of the rules, feel free to add on as you will. A bottle of bourbon (seriously), combs, some hair product, condoms, you know, whatever you need. But before you zip up your kit for the flight, take care and seal your liquids in a waterproof bag. Once, I returned home to find a bottle of sunscreen exploded in my bag. You don't want that, believe me.
